Blue KC Exceeds United Way Fundraising Goal: October 2008

Kansas City, MO.—Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) is proud to announce that its employees pledged more than $225,000, a record-breaking amount, in their annual United Way Fundraising Campaign. The total amount pledged exceeds the goal by more than $39,000.

This is the 5th year in a row that Blue KC employees have exceeded their fundraising goal. In fact, the total amount raised in the last five years by Blue KC for the United Way of Greater Kansas City is close to $1 million.

The United Way of Greater Kansas City provides support to 348 organizations and programs in the Kansas City area. Every dollar donated is leveraged with matching grants and gifts-in-kind to provide $1.55 worth of services.
