Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City's websie, www.BlueKC.com, has received two distinguished honors.

The redesigned site was recognized with a Silver ADDY Award from the American Advertising Federation in the Interactive Media, website, B-to-B HTML Services category for www.BlueKC.com.

Additionally, Forrester Research, Inc. recognized www.BlueKC.com as an early innovator for its use of multimedia to engage customers. Blue KC re-launched its member site on July 31, 2009, with the design help of VML, a full service digital marketing agency located in Kansas City. It incorporated new functionality to help its members better navigate the healthcare experience. The new site was recognized for its educational content that spans both health improvement topics and explains health insurance in terms that consumers can easily understand as well as its professionally produced videos where Blue KC medical professionals and other staff explain medical conditions, self-care, and how insurance works.
