Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City Introduces New Reform Tool to Help Kansas Citians

AskBlue Healthcare Reform helps consumers understand their options and the new law

Kansas City, MO (February 10, 2011)—Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City is introducing a convenient, interactive tool to help consumers better understand healthcare reform. Individuals and employers can now tap into "AskBlue Healthcare Reform" to learn how they may be affected by the new healthcare reform law.

Available on www.KCHealthCareReform.org, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City's specialized healthcare reform site created as a community resource to help people better understand reform and its impact, AskBlue Healthcare Reform provides a straightforward explanation of healthcare reform from an individual's or business' perspective. By answering a few simple questions, users will see personalized information about the changes that will most likely impact them or their business. At the end of the experience, users receive a summary of what they've learned and have the option to print and e-mail their summary.

"Healthcare reform can be overwhelming and confusing for just about anyone," explained David Gentile, President and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City. "We are offering this high-level interactive online tool to help consumers understand what the new healthcare law will mean to them. We want to help people understand what is going on and how it directly affects them."

The AskBlue Healthcare Reform tool is available to all consumers and is an informative addition to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City's KCHealthCareReform.org site. This site provides timely information on the current state of the health law and additional resources to increase understanding of the legislation and its regulations, while the AskBlue Healthcare Reform tool shows users how the legislation already in effect will impact them.
