Kansas City, MO. (Sept 26. 2011)–Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City is pleased to announce that its health plans were ranked number one in Missouri and Kansas by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City's Blue-Care product is ranked 95th among 390 commercial health plans nationally, which ranks higher than all health plans in both states. Additionally, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City's Preferred-Care Blue product is ranked 213th out of 390, also leading all other PPO plans in both states.

NCQA Private Health Insurance Plan Rankings, 2011-2012, provides rankings for all HMO, and now PPO, health plans in the nation. The addition of PPO health plans, new this year, increased the number of ranked plans from 227 to 390. All rankings will be published in the November issue of Consumer Reports magazine.
